Here’s what I ask. The poor are no longer confined to their dilapidated housing. They can access the internet via libraries (e.g. Metropolitan University Library in St. Paul, Minnesota has a large bank of computers open to the public, frequently taken by homeless people). If we’re throwing them under the bus to appease Republicans because there’s nothing else we can do, it would be nice to stress how shitty that is. It came off like it was no different than changing a regulation to allow Uber to run how they’d like or giving the rich tax money. It is an existential threat to their lives. While we’re throwing a bone to the conservatives, giving them the benefit of the doubt on everything, not investigating Russia/Comey/Cross-Check voter suppression, please remember the poor can actually read people not caring about their survival.
