How A Technology Fucked With My Mission
Some people are on social media for the likes because they are taking selfies. Apparently. Yesterday, Iowa passed a law that says a woman must carry an embryo to term at six weeks. These Iowan hypocrites traumatized my family when they were unwilling to assist us during poverty. That specifically relates to why I am on social media.
I wrote a book. It is called, When We Were At Your Mercy. I started writing it in 1981 when I was ten years old after being put in foster care because of poverty. I was told that in order to “market” this book when I eventually publish it, I have to already have an audience. This sounds convoluted and ass backward to me, but I have to attract readers to attract an agent. Or so I am told. Now, you are telling me that it is all just digital narcissism.
I never wanted any part of it. I want to publish my book. A mission I started in 1981 before social media was ever imagined. Now, I am stuck in its vortex. So, don’t bet that everyone looking for likes is a digital narcissist. Some of us are just trying to accomplish a childhood mission.
