It pisses me off I have a migraine right now, because I would love to just write so much in response to this garbage. You’re the type of chic who’s going to take something like the decision to stop celebrating Christopher Columbus Day, and freak out, pointing fingers at academics crying, “Our white history, our white history. Your academic theory took away my white historical hero.
It has nothing to do with any damn theory. It is simply. Smart people read old books. I like to read old books. I read genealogical history books all the time. They are blatantly and obviously biased toward the white people who wrote them. Take the history of Sciuate, Massacchusetts. The history of Wythe County, Virginia. I’ve read dozens of county or city histories. They tell ridiculous stories of white people standing up heroically to terrible. savage “Injuns.” My great-grandparents are responsible for writing many of these histories. I don’t care if their work is overturned. They were full of shit.
So was Columbus. Honest historians have written extensively on him. We are mature enough as a society now to look at his crimes and say, “Huh, not worth honoring.” But you and your kind are the whiners. Don’t teach us that stuff. That’s just higher education. You make me sick.
