Thank you for your feedback. Class is really important, too. Growing up in extreme poverty (the State took us away from our parents for a while for “neglect” which was really poverty), I know all about being white and poor. But I also know that economic privilege and race privilege are too different things. White people need to acknowledge race privilege in all its forms regardless of their class. It would be great to see people of color from middle and upper classes talk about their economic privileges sometimes, too. That isn’t done very much. But I’ve had the conversation with friends in graduate school. We each talked about our respective privileges. It deepened our relationships immensely.
