Thank you for your support! I can’t believe what that therapist said to you. Well, actually, I can, but that is a shame, isn’t it? I’m happy to have a new therapist, and when I think about it, I have more than one, because there are two in our DBT group. Both of them are outstanding as well. All of my treatment is being done through an eating disorder clinic, so they have a mostly enlightened view of them. I like the way binge eating disorder and compulsive eating disorder are being elevated in importance at the clinic. They have both been majorly ignored, but I think they are starting to get the attention they deserve.
I’m sorry you had the experiences you did, too. I get why you feel the way you do. I also had a drunk encounter later when I was in college that was coercive consensual and filled with regret. There’s something about coercive consensual that seems like a sexual assault, but it doesn’t count. It leaves a person in a weird limbo.
