That is so true, of course. I didn’t focus on that when I talked about having this sense of familiar responsibility for the past, because my family members from the North lived in tiny towns that were all white. But, the cities certainly had racism and race conflict. There were sundown towns all over the Midwest and East. You can go to this website to look them all up.
