The odds on favorite is that you are saving lives, because homicidal people come out of the backgrounds you describe. I come from that background and I spent a year doing probation/parole before going to learn about mental health in graduate school. I am a woman so I was socialized to direct my anger at myself. That’s extremely fortunate for society. My anger is constant and toxic, takes persistent amounts of therapy to control, and will play a role in my death. I shudder to think of how many males feel the anger I do but direct it at other people primarily, because that is their socialization. It’s dangerous.
