There are people in this world who are victimizers. They want to erase the fact they have created victims. They have pushed this agenda of victim-blaming where you look at the person with PTSD curled up on their bed and say, “Let go of the wounded victim role and heal the pain of the past.” There are many truths in what you write. A person must face their pain and experience their emotions rather than try to escape them. But the boot camp/tough love, slap=in-the-face approach would only harm me.
One of the beliefs I developed from my victimizers is that people cannot be trusted. Someone cyberscreaming with repetition at me to stop acknowledging the effect of a trauma — knowing that trauma affects you down to the cellular and endocrine level of your body. Well,-I’m not prepared to deny reality like that.
